Planning your Safari to Africa.

Being on Safari is utter happiness. Get ready to explore and experience the range of wildlife, big and small, to the vast differing terrain and landscape, the colors, sunrise and sunsets, the smell of the land and animals, to the different people you will meet on your way. Happiness is being on Safari.

Whether you are going for the first time on Safari or going again on Safari [trust us, you will], there is so much of Africa to explore. Let us get started with planning your Journey To Africa Safari!

When you are planning on being on Safari? What month?
The best time to go on Safari is --- year round. The animals are always there! We will put you in the right place for the right time depending on when you are going. Any particular dates I must keep in mind. When I propose a Safari, I like to have the places-you-will stay on hold so if you fall in love, we can have those rooms available to book.

How many days can you spend on Safari?
If you can carve out a minimum of 7 nights up to 2-3+ weeks, you will be well rewards. “Haraka haraka haina baraka” – a Swahili saying which translates as hurry hurry has no blessing.

Who is going to join you on your Safari?
- Are you a family with children? How old are the children? Let us know your rooming preference if any. Some discounts will apply. We love traveling with our kids so know the right places for you.
- Is this a honeymoon Safari? Congratulations, lets get something romantic set up for you.
- Are you a group of friends? How fun.
- Grandparents taking your children and grandchildren? We love multi-generational travel.
- Going solo? Perfect get-away. We have planned such Safaris. Let's talk.

How many days can you take off for your Safari?
If you can carve out a minimum of 7 nights up to 2-3+ weeks, you will be well rewards. Generally, we like a slow Safari so each place we would like you to stay at least 2 nights. There is a saying in Swahili that says, “Haraka haraka haina baraka” – which translates as hurry hurry has no blessing.

What are some of your top must-see so we can decide which country to visit? Ideas below.
If you have a country in mind, please do let me know.

  • Wildebeest and Zebra Migration - the million strong herbivores traversing the Serengeti in Tanzania and Masai Mara in Kenya. We will put you in the right place at the right time depending on the month of your Safari. Tanzania and Kenya have other glorious parks to visit like Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Laikipia area, Samburu Region, etc.
Combine wildlife with cultural stops like the Maasai tribe, Hadzabe tribe or Samburu tribe.

  • Okavango Delta - this is the water system that feeds the wildlife in Botswana. The delta is a magical place for amazing wildlife - from wild dogs, leopards, elephants, nyalas and so much more. From here, you can do boat riding called Mokoro and go on sunset cruises as well as game driving in vehicles.

  • South Africa - perfect balance of culture and Safari. From beautiful Cape Town and its history [Robben Island], wine country, penguins, to wildlife rich private game reserves where the chances of seeing the Big 5 are incredibly high. When we say a leopard a day, I am not kidding.

  • Zambia - wild Zambia as they like to call themselves. Besides wildlife, get to enjoy the walking that this diverse place has to offer and if you are into fishing, this is your spot for tiger-fishing.

  • Zimbabwe - for the elephants tippy toeing and eating marula fruits. Lots of walking opportunities here and of course, Victoria Falls.

  • Uganda and Rwanda - Gorillas! Enjoy at least 2-3 treks here and get to see the mountain gorillas.

What places-to-stay have you heard from friends or family that you would like to explore?
Let us know and we can find ways to incorporate that into your Safari.

Another option is giving us an idea of where you have stayed before or send us a photograph of what appeals to you. This way, we can match the style of your taste to the lodges we will recommend.

What is your Safari budget?
Our Tanzania and Kenya will start around $700 per person per night. South Africa Safaris around $750 per person per night if combined with a few days in Cape Town. Botswana Safari will be around $1,300 per person per night starting point. Prices may alter if there are young kids, larger group, shorter Safari, off-season, etc. These are guidelines for peak season.

  • If you have a number you would like to stay within, please let me know and I can choose places-to-stay accordingly.

  • Some guests want us to recommend our preferred places-to-stay and then we talk. If that is within range, great. If not, we go back to the drawing board and recommend alternatives. We have a range of places-to-stay that we have personally stayed in so we can give you our honest opinion -- we know we can find you the right fit.

We will go back and forth until we get a Safari itinerary that is just right for you and your Safari partners.

Once you are happy, we will make sure the Safari we have finally decided on is on hold and ask you to confirm your Safari with a non-refundable 30% deposit and then Safari preparation continues.

“ Nothing prepares you for the impact of Africa. Strange sights, new sounds, new smells; it is a total assault on the senses, like being a child again and seeing the world afresh.
