Payments:
Non-refundable deposits: 30% of the total at the time of reservation.
There shall be no binding contract until the non-refundable payment has been received by Journey to Africa Safaris. Delay to receive the non-refundable deposit on time could result in a change of status of any confirmed space. We will assist to find alternatives for you.

Payments: 100% of the balance - 90 days before departure

Cancellation Policy:

In the event of cancellation or postponement of a confirmed Safari, you will forfeit:
30% of the non-refundable deposit.
100% of balance price - 90 days or less prior to arrival.

Please note that no refunds will be given for unused meals, hotel rooms not used, transfers not used, etc.

Tours do not include:
Fees for obtaining passports, visas, inoculations, airfares not specifically mentioned as included, travel insurance (health and travel), excess baggage and weight fees, and optional tours.

Also not included are: activities not mentioned on the itinerary, tips during your Safari, additional accommodations or changes in accommodations, any items of personal nature such as shopping for souvenirs, certain beverages depending on the lodges, laundry when not included, room service, or any activities not mentioned in your itinerary.

Airfare:
If Journey To Africa assisted with airfare via our flight coordinator, the company is not liable should the airline change flight times causing delays and missed connections. All extras that are incurred will be paid directly by the guest.

Travel Documents:
Each member must have a 6-month valid passport as well as enough pages for large visa stamps. Journey To Africa will assist in obtaining information about entry requirements and the documentation necessary to enter your Safari destination. In case of a sudden change in visa requirements, Journey To Africa will contact the passenger for up-to-date information.

Even though Journey To Africa will make an effort to assist the traveler in this regard, the traveler acknowledges that in doing so, Journey To Africa is not assuming any obligation or liability. It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure that his or her documentation is in order and complies with the appropriate laws and other requirements to enable the traveler to enjoy the benefits of the Safari.

Health Requirements and Traveler’s Representations:
The traveler acknowledges he/she is in good physical condition. The travelers should understand the hazards and risk-taking on a Safari or Mt. Kilimanjaro climb include but not limited to cuts, falling objects, heatstroke, dehydration, animal and bug bites, campfire hazards, dust, loose rocks, bumpy roads, etc.

Mt. Kilimanjaro climbs possess threats such as hypothermia, altitude sickness (which can result in death), trauma, weather change, frostbite, collision, etc. Traveler represents that neither he nor she nor anyone traveling with him or her has any physical or other condition or disability that would create a hazard to him or herself or other members of the group. Journey To Africa and its agents shall make the ultimate determination if an individual is fit to embark or continue on a trip.

* It is the traveler’s responsibility to have consulted with his physician or specialist before agreeing to participate in a Journey To Africa Safari and that the physician has given him/her a clean bill of health to embark on this adventure knowing the inherent risks involved as mentioned above. *

The traveler acknowledges that it is his responsibility to ensure that he possesses all the necessary health documents and other certificates that may be required from time to time.

We recommend a visit to your primary physician or local travel clinic or visit www.cdc.gov for more information.

Passengers are advised to obtain their own insurance for health or ask Journey To Africa for Travel Guard Insurance while traveling to Eastern and Southern Africa. Valid unforeseen expenses medical expenses, evacuations (which will be paid directly to the provider by the traveler) incurred while on Safari or on route, shortened mountain climb hence extra lodging, illness on Safari, etc can later be claimed from Travel Guard Insurance. If travel insurance is not obtained, all medical expenses, evacuation fees, hospital stay, extra lodging, etc. will be paid in full by the traveler to the provider.

Journey To Africa and its agents assumes no liability regarding provision of medical care, evacuation, hospital bills, etc. when on any of our Safaris or mountain climbs. Hospital facilities are often unavailable and evacuation can be prolonged, difficult, and expensive.

Risks:
Journey To Africa and its agents believe our activities or activities bought from a third party to be safe as we take necessary precautions. However, as with all activities in the wilderness of Africa, clients undertake these experiences at their own risk. These activities include but are not limited to game driving, walking safaris, ballooning, local air flights, and mountain climbing.

It is your sole responsibility to take all appropriate medical advice prior to departure as to whether or not you are fit enough to undertake the Safari booked as your health and life can be at risk when on Safari. Journey To Africa and its agents shall not be liable for any form of illness, injury (slight or major) or death sustained on a Safari sold by Journey To Africa or its agents and third party. All medical evacuations, hospital expenses, extra lodgings, etc. will be directly paid by the traveler which can be later claimed from Travel Guard Insurance. Journey To Africa and its agents are not responsible for any payment of the added expenses such as evacuation, hospital expenses, extra lodging, etc. occurred due to sudden accident or illness during Safari or mountain climbing. Any extra expenses will be paid by the traveler.

Acts of God and the like:
Journey To Africa and its agents are not liable for acts of God, dangerous incidents in the sea, or air, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of governments or other authorities, whether declared or not, hostilities, strikes, riots, theft, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations or from any other causes. Journey To Africa and its agents can accept no responsibilities for loss or additional expenses to clients due to delay or changes in schedule.

We want to maximize the enjoyment of your Safari, but we are not always able to predict the climate or the concentrations of the game ahead of time.

Independent Suppliers:
Journey To Africa and its agents act only as agents for clients in regards to certain travel whether by air, road, or any other conveyance and assume no defect, through the acts or defaults of any company or person, in carrying out the arrangements of this tour. Tour services included but not limited to guide services, hotel accommodations, meals, and other services are furnished by third parties who are independent and do not act for or on behalf of Journey To Africa and its agent with whom Journey To Africa and its agents has no relationship as a joint venture or otherwise. Each passenger waives any claim against Journey To Africa and its agents for any delay inconvenience or damage, loss of property or baggage, or injury (slight or major) to or deaths of personal due to the acts or omissions of said third parties.

Delays and Cost increases:
Journey To Africa and its agents’ further reserves the right to change any part of the itinerary such as accommodations due to bad weather, trail conditions, river levels or other contingency for example, closing down of a lodge or overbooking of lodges due to lodge error of which Journey To Africa and its agents were not aware off or not informed. The traveler acknowledges that the tour price and itinerary disclosed to him/her at the time of booking may be modified (Journey To Africa will always inform the client and work on good faith) by Journey To Africa due to situations not under Journey To Africa’s control. This includes increase in gas prices, park fees, lodge price change (for advance bookings) and similar causes. In such cases, if Journey To Africa can not absorb the cost difference, each passenger will be asked to pay an additional amount for the trip reflecting such increases or alter the itinerary to maintain the price given (if applicable).

Provided the itinerary is not substantially different from the itinerary that the traveler anticipated enjoying, we ask that the traveler not cancel the contract.

Applicable Law and Agreement to Arbitrate:
It is agreed by Journey To Africa and the traveler that any claim arising in connection with the tour, the brochure, or this contract including without limitation any claim to illness, injury, or death, shall not be made or filed in any court but resolved exclusively by binding arbitration in Houston, Texas.

Additional Services and Features:
All components of this Safari are included in good faith.
 
Part or full payment of the tour cost constitutes acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
