Entamanu Ngorongoro, perched on the Ngorongoro Crater Rim.

Surrounded by volcanic peaks, in a grove of Acacia Lahai trees draped in feathery moss, Entamanu Ngorongoro looks towards the sunrise over the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site while the sun sets at our backs over the Serengeti Plains.

To get to Entamanu Ngorongoro, you will enjoy a stunning drive through the highland forest. Look up, you will see the lungs of the area. The crew will be waiting for you with drinks. If you are coming in the evening during the cool months - June to August - zip-up. Ngorongoro Rim will have temparatures in the 50s. Walk into the cozy lounge area, and step right to the patio to get a grand view of the Ngorongoro Crater - a stunning view of the World Heritage Site, home to the rare black rhinos. Enjoy high tea with a view!

In the evening time, for dinner or late evening drinks, sitting by the fire is the prime spot to ward off the chill. Enjoy delicious food served mostly sourced locally from the surrounding fertile region. A wide selection of drinks will be offered with your meal.

The Rooms:
All the rooms are nestled under the lovely trees.

Each room at lovely Entamanu Ngorongoro sit raised on platforms which gives you a bit of height when you sit outside on the porch to enjoy the lovely views of Ngorongoro Crater. Interiors are of sustainably sourced wood and everything within the camp is locally sourced and made by talented Tanzanian artisans. Extraordinary care has been taken to ensure minimal disturbance to the environment.

In your rooms, textured wool, down duvets and heaters provide warmth in the sleeping tents against the chilly nights - oh, they also provide hot water bottle. As per all the Safari Lodges suggested by me, your glamping tents will have enclosed bathrooms - at Entamanu Ngorongoro hot showers are provided at all times and they also include heaters in many corners of the room for those cool mornings and evenings.

The camp has six rooms, one of which is a family unit ideal for families with children or if a group wants to stay together.
All of our rooms have views into the Crater, with Serengeti views to be enjoyed from the other side of camp.

Maasai Village visit:
Stop at the Maasai village where you can spend time with the young, the mamas and the elders. The Maasais are happy to share their lifestyle. Be ready to experience one of Tanzania’s colorful tribes who have been in this area for 400 years. They are usually nomadic but these days, they have settled into the area with their livestock. They measure their wealth in how much livestock they posses. The more cows, the more the wives. Keep on open mind.

The walk can be 1-4 hours depending on time and how long you would like to walk. Our Maasai guide will escort you through the whistling acacias, maybe roaming animals, and cows.
