Today 236 Hurumzi Hotel is beautifully restored and sits in the heart of Stone Town. The 10 exclusively stylish and elegant rooms are spacious airy with uniquely carved doors, antique furnishings, ceiling fans and stone baths. Each room is different and the attention to details is wonderful especially since they have maintained the authentic Zanzibari feel.
The hotel does not have AC and has a lot of steps - not the best place if you have a bad knee or need AC.
