Western Serengeti Lodge ::
From June to July, this area is brimming with migratory animals - breathtaking

Grumeti River Camp

The seclusion of a remote, idyllic valley in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park lays the exclusive tented Grumeti River Camp, built right on the banks of Grumeti River Tributary. The theme of Grumeti River Camp is very elegant yet unusual. The massive large tents with extravagant bright colors of the chaise lounge or accessories found through out the Camp complement the dark handcrafted furnishings. The tents are furnished with large dramatic beds styled to resemble a regal crown. The tents are built on the banks of the river and in the evenings hippos can stroll near the tents to feed. This is quite an adventure for some people.

From the camp, you can enjoy some of the world's largest crocodile enjoying the watery carpets of lilies of the Grumeti River Tributary. Documentaries on crocodiles have been filmed from Grumeti River Camp. The best time to overnight at Grumeti River Camp is from June to early August when the resident animals have the company of the migratory wildebeest and zebras. The migrating animals during this time frame will cross the Grumeti River to get to Northern Serengeti and Masai Mara in Southern Kenya.

Mbalageti Serengeti

Mbalageti Serengeti is an exclusive permanent tented camp located in Western Serengeti overlooking the Mbalageti River Valley. Each of the 24 chalet tents are spacious and stylish and are located at a good distance from each other to give you complete privacy. The specially designed structure provides excellent protection from insect ingress, with screens on the windows and doors. Roll down canvas blinds shut out the elements at night, providing a really cosy environment in which to lie and listen to the sounds of the bush. At the front of each tent is a private verandah for lounging while admiring the magnificent view. The dining room and lounge area also provide amazing views of Western Serengeti.

Mbalageti Serengeti is at its best between the months of May and July, when the wildebeest and zebra migration is on the move between the southern plains and the western corridor of the Serengeti. Here they will roam until they cross the treacherous Grumeti River heading towards Northern Serengeti and Masai Mara in Kenya.

Grumeti River houses some of the largest Nile crocodiles. Resident wildebeest and zebra as well as other wildlife makes Mbalageti an exciting place to stay year round. Short walks are allowed from Mbalageti Serengeti towards the Mbalageti River.
