The only way to Safari with Paul Oliver
Journey to Africa is excited about working with Paul Oliver. Paul Oliver is a professional guide in Tanzania who is recognized world wide for his in-depth knowledge of wildlife and understanding of Tanzania from a world traveler's perspective - he has traveled to more than 30 countries around the world and 16 of those in Africa.

His knowledge extends beyond his expertise on wildlife or birds but expands on a variety of subjects and issues. Spend a week with him and you will have gained a wider appreciation of wildlife, Tanzania and its vast varied terrain, the people and its many cultures and much more.
Be ready for his witty sense of humor. A quote from Paul on his love for birds.
"But beware, since childhood Paul has always fancied "birds". In fact it seems he was quite confused over which type of bird he fancied! Particularly between the ages of 6-12, he just couldn't decide between a goldfinch or blue tit or Cara Smith or her sister Paula who lived next door." Paul Oliver
Paul Oliver is a member of Professional Safari Guides and The Tanzanian Association of Tour Operators. He is an experienced naturalist, photographer, park planner (he worked with the Tanzanian Government on conservation) and an active Community Conservation consultant. He firmly believes that People and Wildlife are diversity not adversity.
" Paul Oliver is one of Africa's special people and one of the most respected guides in Tanzania", Safari writer Brian Jackman, in his article about the best guides of Africa (November 1999).
All his Safaris are tailor made to reflect your interest. Paul prefers using a combinations of wilderness or luxury private camping, small remote lodges, and seasonal Safari camps.

If you plan a Safari with Paul, you will want to go on a walking Safari.
"I have been walking in the African bush for over 20 years now and cannot suggest a better way to enjoy a close up perspective on the African bush environment, to have spontaneous encounters with local people and access to areas not reached by vehicle." Paul Oliver
Some of his favorite walking regions include Sanjan plains and Ol Karien gorge, ancient Gol Mountains, Piaya Suyan and Tarangire National Park.
Paul Oliver's Safaris come with in depth knowledge of nature and its history and how to capture it photographically. A wonderful introduction to his beloved Tanzania.
“Paul's portion of the trip was very good. He drove us from Lake Natron across the plains right through the middle of the migration to Ndutu. Time with him or a guide as experienced as he is, is worth every penny.”
