Masai Mara ::
Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most recognized park in Africa. Located in Southern Kenya, Masai Mara is the extension of Serengeti National Park in Northern Tanzania.

Masai Mara and the Serengeti National Park ecosystem was recently named the seventh natural wonder of the world for its Great Wildebeest and Zebra Migration. The Reserve is about 200 sq. miles of open plains, grass carpeted hill, chocolate Mara and Talek river, woodlands and riverine forest. The reserve was formed in 1961 to save the park from hunters. Today, it is one of the most visited reserve in Africa.
This famous reserves homes large herds of buffalos, hippos, giraffes, wildebeests and various antelopes. In addition, rare black rhinos (about 400 rhinos are recorded in Masai Mara), elephants, and leopards are frequently seen around Masai Mara.
The Masai Mara is particularly renowned for its magnificent black-manned lions with their large prides who spend most of the day sleeping in the shade of the acacia trees.

Masai Mara is the scene of one the greatest natural spectacles on Earth - The Great Wildebeest and Zebra migration. The 1.5 million wildebeests and 0.5 million zebras comes through the Masai Mara annually in search of fresh pastures and water between July and November. The animals cross the Mara River when coming and going from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The animals concentrate around the Mara River and the Oloololo Escarpment (the western border of Masai Mara) before dispersing around the rest of the Mara region. This course is crossed every year by the large migratory herds of wildebeests and zebras which march across the two parks.
